Pumping Station Expansion in Kaohsiung Mituo District, Taiwan

◎ Models Installed: AF Series - Submersible Sewage / Wastewater Pumps

◎ Description:
The Mituo district, next to the Taiwan Strait, is Kaohsiung’s aquafarming hub. Locating in the lowlands, the Mituo district is frequently flooded during rainy days. The Kaohsiung city government built pumping stations to help with flooding and reduce aquafarmers’ loss. However, the diesel generator in the pumping stations created noise and air pollution that became disruptions to the residents The city government decided to add new pumps to the pumping stations to lower the frequency of operating the diesel generator. The pumping stations installed the HCP PUMP AF Series Sewage/Wastewater pump 45kW AF-1660 with a standard discharge of 18.0m3/min, powered by electricity and applicable for draining heavy rain and shower. The installations have reduced the use of the diesel generator and improved the residents’ quality of life while effectively keeping the district from flooding.
