HCP Job Report 34 : Niaozuei Reservoir Utility Hole Drain in Nantou, Taiwan

Niaozuei Reservoir Utility Hole Drain in Nantou, Taiwan

◎ Models Installed: AF Series - Submersible Sewage / Wastewater Pumps

◎ Description:
Yulin and Changhua counties suffer flooding from subsidence caused by groundwater overdrawn. The Water Resource Agency proposed the Niaozuei reservoir project to alleviate the flooding and reduce groundwater dependence. The reservoir is projected to store 14.5 million tons of water with a daily supply of 250 thousand tons to the residents. Besides keeping water, the utility holes around the reservoir ensure that the residential supply is not disrupted. The utility holes must be kept dry to ensure the flow control equipment functions properly. 22 HCP PUMP AF Series Submersible Sewage/Wastewater pump 2.2kW 80AFU22.2 and 16 AF Series 3.7kW 80AFU23.7A are installed to pump out the water in the utility holes. 80AFU22.2 discharges 0.4m3/min of water at the standard head of 12m; 80AFU23.7A, 0.5m3/min of water at the standard head of 16.5m meet the head need of the utility hole. The clogged free vortex impeller help keep the flow control equipment dry and ensures the lake supplies water to the residents without disruption.
